What does health mean to you?
After a good night’s sleep, wake up grateful, full of energy, and with a clear head (without brain fog) and enjoy the day without blood sugar dips. Because health is also about happiness and how (energetic) you feel!
I believe that health extends far beyond what you put in your mouth. It’s also about your thoughts, love for yourself and your surroundings, such as nature and the people around you. That’s why I always say: don’t forget the media you “consume” daily. Look at what you put in your mouth, but also what you put in your brain. Make sure it’s nourishing! After all, your brain has Velcro for negative news. And nobody has ever truly felt better from aimlessly scrolling, right?
What healthy ingredients do you always have at home?
We try to offer a lot of variety, but we always have Demeter eggs, avocados, carrots, beets, spelt sourdough bread, sweet potatoes, and (raw milk/organic) cheese and dairy products on hand. We also have lots of flavorings like garlic, ginger, fresh herbs, cinnamon, 100% nut butters like tahini, and of course, dark chocolate. And we keep a full fruit bowl in plain sight so everyone can easily eat enough fruit!
What meal do you often have on the table?
Simple yet nutritious meals. Think curries with cod or chicken thigh, a traybake of various vegetables like pumpkin, parsnip, potatoes, carrots, and zucchini with lots of herbs, and on the side, homemade burgers made with grass-fed, organic beef (liver) mince.
What do you look for?
Meals with lots of color, because I always say that color on your plate is color in your life. And that the complex carbohydrates are well-combined with proteins and fats for more stable blood sugar levels. Preferably as warming as possible, so few cold and raw vegetables, given the autumn and winter!
What’s the best part of your job?
I encourage people to take good care of their bodies and be kind to themselves. From that mindset, it’s easier to make the right (food) choices. Or how about treating yourself to a walk for self-love, instead of scrolling aimlessly and sitting still even more? I also share lots of practical tips on my Instagram stories and reels, and it works great! With achievable steps, I’ve seen myself and thousands of women transform. From pitfall to superpower, and with their own cycle as a coach! Because you have much more control over your hormones and your health than you might think ;).
Why are you a fan of our infrared lamps?
First of all, because we spend a lot of time indoors these days and don’t get enough natural daylight. We’re stuck inside behind our computers, phones, and TVs. In blue artificial light! This light is harmful to our cells, biorhythms, and therefore our overall health.
That’s why I always try to go outside as soon as I wake up. For fresh air, to wake up my body, but especially for daylight in my eyes. I even try to brush my teeth outside, haha!
Only… this doesn’t always work because of bad weather. I use the Norahlux lamp on my face for a light boost.
This way, I wake up feeling refreshed and already have a special light spectrum as a ‘healing’ session.
When I use the lamp, I focus it on my face (collagen production), neck (where the thyroid is located), and collarbone area (where a lot of lymph flows).
I also often place it on my stomach or back. Great after exercise & nice and warm, and also good for my ovaries/uterus and for reducing intestinal problems!
I often recommend red light therapy for clients with acne or other skin conditions, thyroid issues, burnout, elite athletes, hair loss, to quickly remove cold sores, reduce mood swings and depression, and for chronic fatigue and intestinal issues (the light should be placed on your stomach).
I’m also very focused on maintaining beautiful skin WITHOUT cosmetic neurotoxic procedures like Botox or fillers.
The NorahLux light is a must-have in my skincare routine, of course. I also love the guasha stone, lymphatic massage, and cupping.
