Frequently asked questions
Q: Some brands have much higher values, is that important?
A: No, both the irradiance and power figures are unrealistic. The former requires a complex technical explanation, but in short, it’s a matter of numbers. There’s a bit of a competition going on among brands and manufacturers, and the light experts in the measuring equipment agree with us that the wrong equipment is being used. In fact, there’s no ideal equipment available yet because light therapy used to be done with lasers, but now with LEDs. Our years of experience ensure we use the right LEDs with the correct dose per session. Regarding the latter, power, we indicate the actual power consumption for each lamp. This is approximately 1.5W per LED. Some brands continue to advertise power that isn’t actually the case because the chips on which the LEDs are installed can handle more power. A chip might be 5W, but for a lamp with 100 LEDs, they’ll say 500W! While the actual power is approximately 1.5W per LED, that is, 150W. We’re done with the high numbers and are happy with the low numbers!
Why be happy with low values then?
Energy is expensive these days, so the fact that LEDs only use 1.5W is beneficial for operating costs. The 1.5W limit also exists for a reason: operating hours! At this wattage, the LEDs last for over 30,000 hours! Some brands even boast that these same LEDs last up to 100,000 hours. Years of trouble-free enjoyment, and no lies about the numbers :).
Q: What is the delivery time?
A: Most orders placed before 3:00 PM are shipped the same day. Depending on DHL or PostNL, the package will arrive the next business day. Of course, we have no control over any backlogs at DHL or PostNL. Larger models are sometimes double-checked and collected by the postal service by appointment. This can take an additional business day.
Q: Are there shipping costs?
A: There are no shipping costs for lamps within the Netherlands. Shipping to other countries depends on the weight. Small lamps cost between €7 and €10 in shipping, while larger lamps are slightly more expensive depending on the country and weight. You can see this information when completing your order.
Q: I can’t find the manual, did I forget it?
A: No, not all models have a paper manual. You can download one here on the product page. You can also find short explanatory videos in the Video tab on the product page.
Q: I see that only half of the LEDs are on, is the lamp broken?
A: No, the lamp has 50% visible red light and 50% invisible infrared light. You can turn on the infrared separately by switching on only NIR. You’ll then see a slight glow in 50% of the lenses, so you know that half of them are working.
Q: Do I need to wear protective glasses?
A: No, under normal circumstances this isn’t necessary. The infrared can even be healing for the eyes, but because the visible red is very bright, we recommend keeping your eyes closed.
Q: When are protective glasses appropriate?
A: If you are light-sensitive, for example if you get a headache from being outside on a sunny day, it is wise to wear protective glasses or skip the face treatment.
Q: The treatment time indicated is 10 to 15 minutes, but I also want to have other parts of my body treated. Should I have this done on another day?
A: No, the best effect is 10 to 15 minutes per area. For example, if you do your face first and then your body, you can do this one after the other. We also sell lamps that can treat the entire body at once, and those still require a treatment time of 10 to 15 minutes.
Q: The LEDs seem to turn green/blue after a while, is something wrong?
A: No, some people experience an increase in green/blue vision after a while due to the bright light. This is only a temporary effect that disappears within seconds to minutes after the session for those who experience it, and is otherwise safe for the eyes. If you find this unpleasant, you can either wear protective (tanning bed) glasses or avoid looking directly at the lamp.
Q: Isn’t laser much better than LED?
A: In some cases, perhaps, but lasers have many disadvantages that make them unsuitable for home use. For example, lasers are very expensive, have a very small treatment area, and can cause burns. This is why laser is almost exclusively used by specialists.
Q: Why don’t your lamps have multiple colors like some beauticians have?
A: Our LEDs are designed to deliver a powerful peak frequency that has been scientifically proven to have a therapeutic effect. This guarantees a rapid, positive effect.
Q: Don’t those colored lights work then?
A: The answer is, probably some do and some don’t. We know with our LEDs that they always do what we want and with the power we want. The colored LEDs emit a much less specific frequency and also with much less power. This means that the effect is reduced on 2 aspects.
